Product Description
Stephan Maurice Woodrup and his wife Jean founded Woodrup cycles shortly after WW2, and have made top quality bicycles ever since. While not the most well known marque, Woodrup frames are highly regarded worldwide and considered the equal of masters such as Bob Jackson. This is the Giro Touring model. It's most distinguishing feature is the full wrap-around seat stays. They look like Superman himself took a tube, hooked it around the seat tube's top, and bent them down to meet the Campagnolo dropouts. Like all great frames of the era, it's made from Reynolds 531 steel. It came to me as a Franken-Bike, with a mix of OMAS, Phil Wood, Campy, Suntour Superbe, etc. It deserves to be built up with a proper gruppo by someone who will love to ride it.
Frame size
The frame is a 57cm square traditional geometry. This equates to a large size frame, and will fit someone roughly 5ft 10 to 6ft 3.
Condition:
The frame is straight and in great structural condition, though the paint is a bit rough in spots. No bends, dents, or cracks. There is some light rust in places where the paint is chipped away. Inside the steerer, bb shell, and seat tube is mostly free of rust. Would be suitable for a restoration, or ride as is for a daily rider, townie, or budget touring bike.
