COMMUNICATION

Email is the best way to contact us.  Many emails are responded to within an hour or less, while almost all will be responded to within 24 hours.  Email gives us the best chance to gather informative, accurate answers to your questions.  Feel free to call if you would rather speak to us.

SHIPPING

We strive to offer you fair shipping prices on your order.  If you are ordering a large number of items, contact us and we may be able to offer you a better shipping rate.   Our shipping calculator is far from human, but we try to be as human as possible :)  Most items will be shipped out same or next business day. We are proud to offer FREE SHIPPING on orders within the USA over $150 (Excluding complete bikes, frames, wheels, and mountain bike forks)

 

Deals, Discounts, and Group Buys!

 

That's what we're all here for right?  As with most things in life; the more you buy, the more you SAVE! If you are interested in numerous items, contact us and see what kind of deal we can make!  The possibility of group buys is wide open.  If you have a cycling club or team that needs a bunch of cool parts, feel free to combine up and ask for a bulk discount.

 

LOCAL PICKUP ORDERS

Online orders placed as local pickup will be ready after 2:00 pm the following business day. We are happy to accommodate quicker pickup times if you would kindly email or call us prior to picking it up. Unless special arrangements are made in advance, orders need to be picked up within 10 days or a 10% restocking fee will be charged.  Items not picked up within 45 days will put back on sale, and a refund will not be given.

 IN-STORE SALES

If you are near Portland Oregon, call/email to set an appointment to dig through my parts!  You'll get first shot at the vast amount of product I have that has not been listed on the website yet.  I'm in inner SE PDX, Sunnyside neighborhood.  Remember, by appointment only!

 INFORMATION SECURITY

We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts all of the information you provide to us and prevents outside parties from being able to "see" your transaction information. When your account information is displayed on your screen, we only display the last five digits of your credit card numbers.  We will not give or sell your information to anyone.  
 
RETURNS

Merchandise will be sold as-is.  Please understand that these parts have been used or are up to 60 years old.  While we cannot and will not guarantee our products, we do our best to work something out with you.  Each part is thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and tested by a professional mechanic (when possible), so the risk of a defective product is significantly lower than on Ebay, Craigslist, or via other private party sales networks.

*Used cassettes & chainrings are sold as-is, and returns will not be accepted due to them skipping with your drivetrain.  We cannot reasonably test these to ensure they will work with your old or even new drivetrain parts.  We do our best to examine the parts to ensure an accurate description of the condition. 

All returns and order cancellations that are not due to a mistake on our part will incur a 5% restocking fee, regardless if the item has shipped or not.  If you placed your order with a free shipping code, Bike Recyclery will retain the value of that discount code out of the return.  This is a very small business and this fee helps offset the financial and time based losses that returns and cancelled orders cause.

New merchandise may be returned within 30 days.  The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs, and original shipping charge will not be refunded.  If you used a free shipping coupon code, Bike Recyclery's actual shipping costs will be deducted from your refund of the purchase price.

If the merchandise has been opened or shows signs of being installed or used, an additional 30% restocking fee will be charged.  New merchandise is defined as any product listed as "New" or "New in Box (NIB)".  

In the event of an obvious mistake in a listing, or we send you the wrong part, we will refund the original price and original shipping charge.  There will not be a restocking fee.  We will also pay return shipping, up to the amount of the original shipping charge.  These are rare occurrences, but we don't want you to pay for our mistakes!  

Please contact us before sending an item back.  Returns must have a return authorization number clearly marked on the outside of the package or the item will be refused. A return authorization number can be obtained by phone or email.

Our website is intended to help you. We make every effort to maintain current, accurate prices and descriptions in our online catalog. And we strive for similar accuracy and timeliness with the other information we offer here. We appreciate your understanding should any of the prices or other information provided be incorrect and regret any inconvenience such mistakes may create. 

 

Warranties

 

Everything on this site is sold as-is, with no warranty.  We will do our best to work with you and provide returns when appropriate (see "Returns" above for more on this).  Bike Recyclery is not responsible for injury, death, or damage caused while using products sold on www.BikeRecyclery.com.  Bike Recyclery inspects and tests all products to the best of our ability, but we make no guarantees about structural integrity.  It is impossible for us to test for internal cracks, weakening from excessive stress, etc.

WWW.BIKERECYCLERY.COM is a website/online business owned and operated by Bike Recyclery, LLC (the “Company”). The Company is an Oregon limited liability company that is in the business of the purchase and resale of bicycle parts and components. Much of what the Company sells is of an indeterminate age and in many cases used. The Company conducts a cursory and reasonable screening of parts and components to determine that the part or component is serviceable for use. The Company’s review does not include any inspection for latent or non-obvious defects. Given the nature of the Company’s business, other than being reasonably accurate in its description of the parts and components that it sells, it does not warrant or guaranty anything to do with the parts or the components. All information, descriptions and the component or part are sold “AS IS” with no warranties and under the strict doctrine of caveat emptor (“buyer beware”). Without regard to any conflict of law, analysis, all transactions with the Company are deemed to have occurred in the State of Oregon and the venue for any and all disputes with the Company shall be a court of competent jurisdiction in Portland Oregon. All users of the Company’s website or other interaction accept that cycling is and can be an ultrahazardous activity which may result in death, dismemberment, and significant injury. The Company urges all users to seek the assistance of competent mechanics with appropriate tools to service any bicycle or install any part or component purchased through the Company.
