Product Description
This is a show bike restoration grade top level French headset from the 1950's into the mid 1960's. It's identified as the first gen model via the two pin top nut (well, technically 4 but they call it 2) whereas later Competition models had standard hex/octagonal top nuts. It's differentiated between the lower level P3 from the same era via the V Type bearing/cup interface which create more bearing-cup contact for a smoother and longer wearing headset.
Condition
Excellent to near mint very lightly used shape. No real physical wear from use or tool marks. The flanges show only a bit of markings. Top nut, spacers, top/crown races are quite clean. Bottom cup has slight beginnings of pitting. The knurled sides have a few dark spots. Nice enough for most period correct show bikes
