Uber rare "orthopaedic" Specialties TA pedal, for accessibility with difficulties like different leg lengths. The only difference here is the cage being taller to reach that shorter leg. Otherwise it is identical to a P4690 pistal pedal. This is perhaps a rare instance of a single pedal being a "complete" product—This would often be purchased to go with a standard cage height pedal on the opposite side.
This would be a killer piece for a bike museum display as a rare, out of the norm part. It would make a great holiday gift for the Francophile in your life!
TA pedals are regaurded as the best platform pedals of all time. All the way back to their first generation in the 1950's and 1960's they had high level features such as grease ports at the end of the intricate dust caps, needle bearings on the crank side and balls on the outside, and polyurethane cups for waterproofing.
Condition
Excellent used shape. Smooth bearings. There is some scratching to cage plates and body, but no deep gouges. Dust cap looks pretty nice though there's a scrape on it's bottom edge.
