Product Description
Extraordinarily RARE tandem crank circa 1999 to 2000. The Tarantula was first released in 1998 only in Expert TX2 format which was square taper. In 1999 and 2000 the Tarantula Competition TX3 with Octalink V1 was released. This tandem version came stock on the 1999 Cannondale MT3000 and the ultra high end 2000 Cannondale MT4000 mtb tandem, as well as aftermarket. They were extremely expensive and not that many were sold aftermarket.
The beefy ultra stiff arms are milled from 2000-series aluminum while the interchangeable spider is 6000 series aluminum. Outer and middle chainring are hard anodized 7000 aluminum with a titanium inner ring. The front cranks are designed around the XTR BB-M952 / BB-M950 octalink V1 bottom bracket, 112 for most bikes.
