Product Description
This unicorn of an untouched MB-1 mountain bike frameset was a sale's rep sample, built in the last half of 1993 & rescued from a long closed bike shop. It was likely shown to a few local bike shops, and eventually put away into storage. It exactly matches the specs of a 94' model year frame. Bridgestone never sold frame only, due to the huge liability it ads. That makes this even more unique, it could be the last truly unbuilt MB-1 on the planet!
This last year of the MB-1 is my personal favorite of all the Grant Pedersen Bridgestones. The Ritchey Biplane fork crown is beyond beautiful, in an almost industrial way. It sort of looks like a truss bridge! It's built with ultralight Tange Prestige tubing, which uses a 7-4-7 top tube and 8-5-8 downtube. Planing to the max!
Condition
New old stock and never built! It's never so much as had a wheel clamped in it's dropouts. Condition is 9.99 out of 10, and until you look very closely it appears pristine. Paint and decals are high gloss and deep, this was a high quality original paint job. There are a few tiny imperfections from handling and shop wear. 1) This is the only significant point to note, there's a chip on the underside of the driveside chainstay just below the junction with the seat cap. 2) some very small chips on the edge of the top of the seat tube's edges 3) Two small chips on the bottom/rear edge of the derailleur hanger
