Model History
Campagnolo released it's first modern parallelogram derailleur in 1951, the Gran Sport. In 1963 Campy released it's first high end derailleur, the steel-plated bronze Record 1020. It shifted amazingly compared to the Gran Sport. It had adjustable, steel bearing, toothless jockey wheels. For 1965 & 1966, Campagnolo changed to plastic jockey wheels with 10 teeth. In 1967, Campy released the first major redesign of this derailleur, coined the "Nuovo Record". The NR would rule the road scene through the mid 1980's.
CONDITION
At first glance I thought this was NOS, but it seems it was at least installed. Its upper pivot bolt has its corners rounded just slightly indicating a wrench has touched it. The inner cage plate by the guide pulley is nearly pristine but has a tiny rub mark on its tip, indicating a chain has only spun between the cages sparsely. The pulleys are smooth and show no real chain marks but have some cosmetic patina. The only cosmetic wear of note is the housing around the lower pivot bolt has a couple light scrape/scuffs. This will be worthy of any show bike.
