Nearly showroom fresh and heavily upgraded example of a ~1999-2001 Ritchey NiTi! The NiTi was the last hoorah of the Ritchey P-Series bikes. They were similar in form to the legendary P-21 its siblings, but featured a "NiTanium" frameset. This was an ultralight chromoly infused with titanium and nickel for added strength. They were built in Japan in the Toyo factory, with a final alignment and seat cluster brazing by Tom himself. This was among the last Ritchey built in Japan before they moved production to Taiwan.
This one was owned by Chris Kostman of AdventureCORPS. He ordered the from Ritchey and before building had it custom painted by Rick Stefani of D&D Cycles to somewhere between the Bridgestone X0-1 Construction Pumpkin and the "butterscotch" color from the Rivendell Saluki. He finally built it up in the mid 2000's and rode it just a handful of times before he decided he preferred road/gravel, thus its glorious condition. With this build, if you swap in some upside down Northroads bars and a rigid fork you'll have a one of a kind Ritchey X0-1!
The build is a mix of top shelf components from the era. Highlights are the Paul Motolite brakes, Fox RLC fork, and Ritchey WCS cockpit, XTR M970 9 speed rear with thumbies, Rene Herse Humptulips—and a custom crop circle logo'd Ritchey 4-bolt triple cranks! This was a crop circle that appeared in the UK in 1994 and is one of Chris's logos for AdventureCORPS.
Condition
Close to mint barely ridden condition! It presents as a close to showroom condition as a "ridden" mtb can be. The only real blemishes are the slightest bit of chain suck paint wear behind the chainring and a little bit of chipping on the non driveside chainstay near the dropout. Maybe a few tiny marks elsewhere. Components are largely mint or close to it. Tires are brand new.
