This gorgeous P-21 was an actual race bike for the glorious Team Ritchey professional race team in the early 1990's. It was raced by a Durango lady named Ramona May. The P-21 model was Ritchey's top of the line XC race model until the P-20 was debuted in 1994. The bike still has the actual parts it was raced with! Many of these parts represent an upgrade to what would have been on the factory available-to-the-public P21 bike, which would have been a mix of XT and Ritchey Logic parts. Essentially, the bike may be completely original. So original in fact, that it has the original foam WTB chainstay guard, XTR cable housings, and Sachs chain! Crazy light at 21.8 pounds!
The paint appears to be a custom paint job from the factory, likely requested by Ramona May. This was not a "stock" paint job, so you're not going to find another one like it! The serial number indicates it is a "P-series" frame, but the serial numbers on these didn't indicate year very well. The XTR derailleur date codes indicate 1993, and most of the parts appear to be about that same vintage.
Condition: Amazing condition overall! The paint and decals are shiny and like new for the most part, with some blemishes. Factory decals are perfect. No chainslap or chainsuck marks! Headtube is perfect. Here are the exceptions: The top of the seatstay/seat tube junction has some paint peeling. Unsure of what caused this. There's some minor paint chipping on/around the Ariel sticker on the downtube by the non-drive crank arm. A few minor marks on the bottom of the downtube and chainstays, from rocks kicking up from the tires (normal for a mtn bike). Small 2mm clearcoat chip in top tube. Non-drive side chainstay and seatstay each have a small paint chip, likely from leaning against a wall. Components for the most part in excellent to mint. See individual conditions listed
