Saxon Twin Tube Frameset: 1930's-40's

26th Feb 2015

This gorgeous frame is another "shorten the wheelbase to the stiffen the ride" machines out of England.  This one uses a split seattube with the wheel fitting between the two tubes to shorten the wheelbase to 38.5 inches.  This one has been repainted in a vibrant metallic orange.

The fork has a little nub on it, which is a headlight mount.  This was a common feature on pre-war English bikes.  The original bottom bracket is a rare Bayless Wiley.
