Product Description
Speedplay was founded in 1991 by Richard Bryne, and this was his first prototype! It was the precursor to the production X-Series pedals. These are an important part of cycling history (even if nobody knows about them). The only photos I've seen online of these gold pedals were being held by Mr. Bryne himself in an interview for Bicycle Retailer (click here for the article).
Condition
Good used condition. They've definitely seen some use. The right spindle feels great, but theres a slight amount of play in the left spindle. One of the end bolts has been replaced with a non-original screw. Cleats not included.
