Product Description
This is one of the coolest boutique derailleurs out of the 1990's! It was a direct competitor of the Paul Powerglide as one of the few USA made alternatives to the XTR M900 rear derailleur at the time. Wide concensus says this Precision is far superior to the Paul and XTR for various reasons. As opposed to the Paul, the Precision is compatible with Shimano SIS shifters. It is completely rebuildable. The body is held together with removeable pins/clips, instead of hidden hinges like the Shimano (break a body plate on a Shimano/Sram, and your derailleur is trash). Break a part? You can still get new parts HERE.
1990’s the Precision Billet Proshift seemed to me to offer the
most. They were devastatingly light, had two sprung pivots (and
so were widely considered to work with Shimano SIS) and had all the trick
elements; stainless steel fittings, sealed bearing pulley wheels etc.
Precision Billet also seemed to be a serious company intent on
actually manufacturing hardware rather than vaporware."
