Product Description
This is truly something special. It's a 1950's high end quill with faux lugs and painted milled insets that's been made even more luxurious by polishing to a near mirror finish. The faux lug creates a fine spearpoint on the top. It's a true centerpiece of any bicycle it's installed on, and will turn heads and start conversations. This is a great upgrade for your vintage Alex Siniger or Jo Routens French randonneur, or French racing bicycle like a Jeunet, LeJeune, Mercier, or PX-10.
The Philippe, Atax, and Milremo branded stems all came out of a partnership between Andre Bertin of France and Ron Kitching of the UK, and sold through Holdsworth. This particular stem appears to be the exact same stem regardless of whether it's engraved Milremo or Philippe.
Condition
Near mint+ exceptionally well preserved shape! Zero rust or tool wear on all original hardware. A few chips in the red paint, and a few light microscratches. Worthy of most any show bike.
