Say WHAT?! We found a NOS set of the beloved RS disc caliper & W.I. 3 bolt disc hub!!!
Yes, RockShox made a disc brake back in the late 1990's. And yes, this is both a mechanical and hydraulic caliper! The pistons are hydraulically actuated, yet they're cable actuated (kinda like some road disc brakes these days). Rock Shox bought the design from Amp Research, and marketed this brake to go with the White Industries 3-bolt hubs. They were one of the world's first actually functional disc brakes! A definite piece of mountain biking history, Great for restoring a special retro mtb, or for display and art purposes.
Condition
New old stock! The calipers were stored loose in a box of new calipers in a bike shop since the 1990's, and thus have a few very light scratches. Appears to function well, but it hasn't been tested. Pads show zero wear. Hub is new old stock, and pristine.
