Product Description
These near unobtanium level rare shifters were Mavic's early entry into the under bar shifters. They were more precisely a tandem lever thumb shifter that mounted under the bar. They were high end mountain bike goods when released as part of the Mavic 870 Paris Gao Dakar group in ~1990. They feature a semi-indexed system that works for 6, 7, and 8 speed drivetrains. Each shift consists of 2 to 3 clicks (depending on derailleur and cog spacing). They're kind of like "trim" adjustment for your rear derailleur. This is just my interpretation of the system, please let me know if you have more exact information on how the indexing works)
For a Mavic equipped early to mid 1990's mountain bike restoration, these are almost required! They are also SUPERBE for swept back bars!
Condition
