Product Description
Obscure and cool fender mounted flint scrapers! They have a twisty wire and double springs to keep it securely mounted into two holes in the fender. Richard Bryne's Speedplay Museum has a set of these with tags saying "Carlton Tyresaver", and PB Bikes has what looks to be the same part listed as Allez by Holdsworth.
These little gadgets hang from your brake bolts and gently "scrape" your tires clean from road grime and stray glass. They had many names—tire scrapers, tire savers, flint catchers... This version is made by Bicycle Research and is a wire construction.
