Product Description
Exotic mtb crank out of USA circa ~1995-1998. These were among the wildest of the 1990's aerospace industry era cranks. The unique arms are CNC machined and hollow. They have two "barrels" per arm, with the pedal threads and BB tapers not inline. This was designed to keep power happening in the "dead space" in a similar way to ovalized chainrings. Bolt on spider, with a similar between the spider arms bolt to Topline / Grafton Speed Stix, Kooka Kranks, etc. Caramba has a neat lil "walking sombrero" logo, with decals on the taper side arm ends in yellow. Caramba formed out of a crank project with Salsa's Ross Shafer & Magic Motorcycle.
This set comes with XTR M900 chainrings, likely the best performing rings of the era. Red alloy chainring bolts and titanium inner chainring bolts.
Condition
New old stock, installed on a show bike but not ridden past a test ride or two. Arms are very close to pristine with few marks. The only imperfections to note are slightest ano wear on the sharp edges (the most significant being the backside of the non-drive arm). Chainrings show just a touch of grease between the rings.
