Product Description
*relisting, as I read the collector's notes on this frame wrong and its actually a NOS unrestored frame*
This rare and restored machine is among the last of the Mark 1 Carlton Pro frames and was their top of the line flagship pro race model. It is an F serial number indicating 1971 (though the MKI is mainly known to be 1968, 1969, 1970 yet the 1971 Carlton catalog shows MK1) many/most of the F series were MKII with the Victor seat cluster and flat crown based on the Carlton Giro D' Italia. This MK1 has wrap around stays, a lovely chrome sloping fork crown, Zeus dropouts, and an integrated headset. The paint is the Carlton race team colors, Lagoon Blue. This is the Carlton-badged version of the Raleigh Ti-Pro Team MKI. Reynolds 531 tubing, Prugnat no. 4 lugs. Made in the Worksop, England facility.
Condition
The collector I'm selling this for tells me he got it in its original box completely new old stock, but the fork paint had gotten damaged in storage since the box was falling apart. So fork is repainted, frame is completely original unrestored and unbuilt. It is in lovely near mint condition with very slight storage wear. Zero dents or rust. Decals are mint, as is original C logo seatpost binder bolt. Imperfections are mostly limited to edges and touchpoints from storage—bottom of BB shell, edges of seatstay caps. Otherwise there's a tiny mark top of top tube by head lug, one on the driveside chainstay at the bb shell, a few tiny pitting marks on the chainstays (very very minimal). Show worthy!
