Product Description
Considered by many as one of the best vintage hubs ever made, and super rare. The Moyeu 500 hub was introduced in 1975, and quickly morphed into the 500 RD which featured a removable axle and adjustable bearings, a la Phil Wood. The 550RD was the Team or Pro model, and featured skewers with alloy cams/ends, as well as the driveside bearings being placed further out towards the freewheel and anodized axles/shell. I believe this is the 550 model, as it has alloy QR cams (ends aren't original), and has anodized shell/axles. These are extremely rare in NIB condition!
The name Moyeu or Moyeux is often attached to the model name, which simply translates to hub.
Condition
New in box, nearly perfect. There is one tiny chip on the edge of one of the flanges. Bearings are buttery smooth. Never mounted. The skewer end nuts are not stock.
