NIB/NOS High Zoot USA Carbon Flat Bars: 107g! Vintage 1990's Boutique - Turquoise Plugs - SUPERLIGHT - 25.4mm Handlebar
High Zoot of Tempe, Arizona was in the MTB carbon superbike market around 1996 and 1997. They made a handful of components to match their frames, including this EXOTIC carbon handlebar. To call it absurdly rare would be an understatement. It weighs a ridiculous 107 grams, and is reinforced with internal webs throughout for strength. They have special alloy bar end plugs to fit around the webs (in turquoise!). This may have been the lightest bar on the market in the 1990's! The NukeProof ATB carbon was 145g, the Ritchey Prolite WCS was 123g, the Ibis Ancotech titanium was 146g,
High Zoot is known (barely!) for their three full suspension models, the High Zoot Stealth, Talon, and Conjo Rabbit. They collaborated with TNT for an absurd carbon crankset that never reached production. Here's a thread with lots of High Zoot info and reviews! I've attached a few photos of their stuff at the end. This company was not messing around with high spec mtb componentry and frames!
Condition
New old stock in original retail canvas bag! They have never been installed. The bars are very close to perfect, with just a few tiny marks from shop wear here and there. The end plugs have a bit of ano wear.
