Product Description
Talk about rare! The mythical Campy High Low hub was reportedly custom ordered by the 1972 West Germany Olympic team, and then later released to the public in low numbers in 1981 (shown in the 1982 Olympic catalog). The ideas was the asymmetric flanges reduce the wheel weakness induced by dishing a wheel to fit a multi-speed freewheel. How much of a difference this makes, I'll leave to the engineers to debate. What I can be sure of is this hub will get you some praise and inquisitive looks on L' Eroica or your local club ride!
This hubset & the other NIB Campy I'm listing have spent their entire lives in their boxes, on the shelves of a lifelong Colorado bike collector/industry person. Completely untouched, never mounted, absolutely perfect.
This time capsule hubs are part of the Nuovo Record Strada gruppo, and was often issued with the Super Record gruppo. True Super Record hubs ONLY difference is they have 6/4V titanium axles (made by O.M.A.S.), and are exceedingly scarce.
Condition
New in original box, complete with original wax paper instruction sheet, cardboard hub separator and attached wax paper cover. Hubs are absolutely pristine, as good as when they came from the factory in the 70's or 80's. Bearings spin beyond buttery smooth and perfectly adjusted. Grease is still wet, viscous, and perfect with no need to repack (probably for a long time). Box is near mint.
