The Maxxis Modular Valve System allows you to easily customize your bike. The separation of the tube and valve stem allows you to choose your valve length without having to deal with finicky valve extensions. When the tube eventually needs to be replaced, the valve stem transfers to the new tube. If you damage a valve in a crash, you can replace just the valve and keep the tube! It's kind of like tubeless valves for tubed tires!
