Product Description
Very clean example of an early Manitou fork, the first released after Answer bought Manitou. It is largely the same as the Doug Bradbury Manitou fork of 1991, but adds offset fork ends as well as Answer logos. It was rebuilt by the previous owner right before they traded it to me. It feels like firm elastomers, possibly extra firm. Long steerer at 194mm.
Condition
Near mint lightly used shape! Freshly rebuilt and works perfectly. Very smooth action. No scratches or damage to stanchions, no leaks. Cosmetically it is exceptionally clean. Legs only have a smattering of tiny scratches. Some light marks on the leg top caps. Crown is very clean except some discoloration on both driveside & non-drive sides where there were stickers. The only issue is the brake cable stop on the brake brace is bent downward. How this happened is your guess, there's no damage on the front/top from being hit or anything. Someone with gorilla strength squeezed the brakes to death? Luckily there are so many long dead and stuck Manitou M1's out there to grab a replacement brace from.
