CQP Cook's Dogbone Crankset: 176mm - Milled - 110/74mm - 46/36/24t
This 1st gen Cook's Quality Products crankset was the original "Dogbone" crank. These came out of Gary Cook's workshop, whereas the Cook Brothers CBR/RSR Dogbone crank was based on Gary's design but produced by Jack Whitmer under Cook Brothers Racing (which Jack bought from Gary Cook in 1982). It is identified as a first gen CQP by the rounded pedal bosses (whereas the 2nd gen M-2000 and Pro-Lite F-2000 were square and delta shaped). These were produced from about 1987 to 1991.
The crank arms are milled out on the side, and feature the American Flag "Made in the USA" decal next to "Cook's" and 176mm in silver ano. The finish appears to be a dark pewter anodizing. Chainrings are period-correct Suntour, and the spider is 110/74mm in black.
Great to excellent used shape. Overall, the finish and Cook's logos look great with just minor general wear. The USA flag stickers are worn, and these could easily be removed and replaced if desired). Arm ends are quite clean, just the lightest scuffing. Chainrings have lots of life left, and show minor tooth wear. This could look nicer if you swap out the chainring bolts to some cleaner ones.
