Product Description
This is a classically designed 2000 CoMotion Espresso single road bike, handmade in Eugene, Oregon. It has a factory painted-to-match Wound UP carbon fork and Zefal FP frame pump. It's painted in Pumpkin Orange, with cream white panels with pin stripes giving it a well matched vintage racing bike appeal. It's a level top tube design (where as the current model Espresso is sloping top tube. It's a pure bred racing machine, built with custom drawn Reynolds 853 air hardened & heat treated steel. As pictured, it tips the scales at an agile 19.80 pounds.
The build is a 9 speed drivetrain, with a mix of Dura Ace 7700 and Dura Ace 7800 parts. Parts were selected with appearance and top performance in mind. With that mindset, we subbed in Ultegra ST-6510 STI shifters. They look nicer, shift smoother, and last longer than the Dura Ace ST-7700. The brakes and rear derailleur were upgraded to DA 7800, as they perform better than their 7700 counterparts and look very similar. Wheels are a set of Dura Ace 7403 matched to the legendary Mavic CPX-30 semi deep dish aero rims. These rims are indestructible and attractive, though heavy. If weight is the primary concern, swap in a lighter set and you could save a pound off the bike and be under 19 pounds!
Size
This is a near square 58cm large horizontal top tube frame. It will fit riders roughly 5ft 10 to 6ft 2.
*** Be aware, this seatpost has been cut to save weight. It has room to move up roughly 2 inches from where it is now. It's a common 27.2mm seatpost size if you need a longer one. ***
- Top tube: 58cm
- Seat tube: 57.5cm (C-T)
- Head tube: 142mm
- Seat stay: 413mm
Condition
The bike is in excellent lightly used condition with a fresh professional tuneup (zero miles since tune). It's ready to ride, and needs absolutely nothing. Bar tape and tires are brand new. Chain/cassette/chainrings/cables/housing/pads show minimal wear and have nearly their full life left. Shifting is perfect, wheels are arrow true and buttery, braking is quiet and powerful. Crankset, STI shifters, & DA skewers are almost new, barely a mark. Derailleurs, cockpit, saddle, etc have minimal wear.
The frame is in excellent shape too. Paint is glossy and overall looks very clean. There are a few chips and scratches from normal use, but nothing too bad (see pics). There is one TINY 2mm wide ding/dent in the top tube; it did not break the paint, and is maybe 1mm deep at most. I tried to photograph it, but it's so insignificant it wouldn't show up. It's not quite a show bike, but clean enough to be a Sunday best rider.
