Product Description
This is a genuine 1st generation Super Record seatpost from 1973-1978. It is distinguished from the much more common Nuovo Record two-pin seatpost with it's factory flutes, alloy clamp side ears, hollow center pin, tapered top of polished section, and different inscriptions that wrap all the way around the top of the post. The size is engraved into both sides of the post, and the Campagnolo script is on front with "PATENT CAMPAGNOLO in block letters on back. The flutes are quite shallow from the factory, vs the deep dramatic ones that are done aftermarket to NR posts and even the later single bolt Super Record seatposts. It's easy to confuse this SR with the Nuovo Record Superleggeri, which is just a standard Nuovo Record with a hollow center pin and tapered upper section.
Condition
Near mint with low miles! This one has insertion marks that come up to the flutes (and a tiny bit further on the back) but very clean otherwise. Hardware close to mint. If it's inserted to almost the bottom of the flutes, this post is quite show bike worthy.
