Product Description
Extraordinarily nice example of a very rare old school BMX crank from 1980. These were released only in 1980 and 1981, maybe 1982. This silver color appears to be the most rare, the blue and gold anodized ones are more common.
The BMX version of the NR/SR cranks have a couple differences between the standard Strada and Pista cranks, although they are still marked "Strada". The silver color is more satiny/flat than the more polished straight silver of the road/track arms. They almost have a slightly gold/tan tint to them. Second, the spider arms only have lips for one 3/32" chainring, where the road cranks have dual lips and the pista has one lip for a 1/8" ring.
*note that the chainring bolts are standard double chainring bolts, which protrude out the back of the ring a bit. The chainring bolt's back female parts are proper single ring nuts, just not the male end. This is safe to ride, though you could replace them with Campy pista bolts.
Condition
Near mint very lightly used show bike shape! The arms are almost perfect, with a very even and unblemished finish. No heel rub or fading. The only wear to note is the drive side arm's end has a very small scrape. The chainring shows light wear and some cosmetic scratches. It's not quite as nice as the arms, but it looks decent.
