Product Description
Campagnolo Gran Sport Cottered Bottom Bracket Spindle #750: 1950's 1960's - 127mm x 70mm Italian (EXC+)
This RARE and collectible Campy spindle was part of the #1047 Gran Sport cottered bottom bracket that was made from roughly 1958 to 1965. It would make a killer gift for the Campy fan who already has everything! Campagnolo never made a cottered crank, but they made this BB because many racers/riders of the era were still riding cottered and they wanted a toe in that market. The spindle is stamped "70", and features enscriptions on both the ends of the spindle and the outside faces of the prominent flanges. This 127mm length was for strada cranks, whereas pista spindles were 117mm or 124.5mm. It is in an era correct BB box, unknown if it is original to this spindle. The spindle uses thin cups, and the common later Gran Sport cups are compatible. The original cups were slightly different cosmetically.
