Product Description
These pedals were part of the famous Campy Super Record 50th anniversary group, which was released in 1983 to commemorate Campagnolo's 50th year in business. It also happened to be released the same year founder Tullio Campagnolo died. 10,000 of these groups were made, and many were kept as complete gruppos in the special case. Finding these pedals separate is pretty tough!
The pedals are true Super Record models, with titanium spindles (as opposed to the MUCH more commonplace "Superleggero SL" with steel spindles). These differ from standard SR pedals in that they have the 50th shield logo and Campagnolo scroll engraved on the bottom of the bodies. These came from the factory with special 50th logo dust caps, though this set has standard chrome finish dust caps (the 50th dust caps are readily available on the market for $75-$100).
Condition:
Excellent to near mint very lightly used shape! The cages are near perfect, with only slight anodizing wear on the foot contact points and even slighter marks on the tails. Cages/tails are straight. Bodies look awesome with very minimal scratching, though there's a tiny scuff on the inner bearing casing's underside of one pedal. Spindles have no play and spin pretty nicely, though a bit rough/dry. Repack the bearings and they'll be awesome. Dust caps are near mint with no scrapes. Ti toe clip hardware in great shape.
