Your chance to own one of Bobby Root's personal bikes he rode & raced, with the bonus of both freaking Travis Pastrana and Ryan William's autographs adorning the frame! I acquired this from Bobby and I's mutual friend Bre Rue of HiFi Wheels fame, and confirmed with Bobby the signatures and ownership. There's even photos (attached) of Bobby riding it in the wild plus event pics from the 2016 Las Vegas Interbike (Ryan sitting on the bike, Bobby/Travis/Ryan posing with it, etc). For freeride and downhill fanatics and collectors, this is a holy grail once in a lifetime find!
There are five signatures in total. Bobby doesn't remember who the others were aside from Travis and Ryan. Travis's autograph is easily identified via his "199" for 199 " lives" after the signature. If you know who the others are, please contact me!
The bike itself is a 2017 Sterzing Plus rocketship of an E-MTB that retailed for $9,000 from now defunct German company M1-Sporttechnik. Its partially built, missing its battery, fork, brakes, etc. The parts that are present match the photos of Bobby riding/presenting it, including the color matched Fizik saddle.
Condition
*This bike is to be considered for display only, and will be sold AS-IS. The top of the seat tube is cracked at the rear. Bobby rode this HARD on insanely punishing courses, there's no telling what other frame damage there could be. Bike Recyclery assumes ZERO liability for damages, injury, or death resulting from riding this bike or any of its structural parts.
The motor hasn't been tested as I don't have a battery, but Bre tells me it worked fine last time it was built. The wiring, connections, and handlebar controller appear in good shape.
Cosmetically, it has its battle scars to be sure but it looks really nice! The signatures are intact but have varying degrees of wear. The paint and decals are in surprisingly good shape. The motor's protective cage piece has certainly made contact with earth, and there's significant chain drop wear.
