Product Description
This was THE bike everyone was talking about in 2001! Not only was it an incredibly fast and attractive race bike with full Campy Record titanium/carbon 10-speed, but it was the first bike to use the exotic Hollowgram Si crank! This is the crank that the BB30 design originated from, and was lighter and stiffer than anything ever made. It's an EXACT replica of the Team Saeco bikes the pro's raced in the Tour De France. Bicycling Magazine reviewed it and concluded "If speed is the only reason you throw a leg over a road bike, buy this bike!". This was one of the last Cannondale bikes handmade in the U.S.A. It is a museum type piece for it's condition, rarity, and uniqueness. COMPLETELY original, except saddle, seatpost, and stem.
This bike is in BETTER THAN MINT condition! As close to NOS as it gets! It was stored indoors, and ridden less than 500 miles. Seriously not a mark on it! Completely original except the saddle, seatpost, and stem. Cassette is a FULL titanium Campy Record (rare!). It even has the original Team Saeco issue Look Delta pedals! Cables/housing are Campagnolo, spokes are Campagnolo, no expense spared! It retailed for $4769.99, and is a museum quality piece!
Size:
The Large/XL 58cm (c-t) frame will fit someone roughly 5ft 10 to 6ft 2. Seattube: 58cm c-t, top tube 57cm c-c
Highlights:
- Rare & pricey Cannondale Hollowgram Si crankset originally sold for over $700
- The ALL titanium 10-speed Record cassette is VERY hard to find. Most have 4 ti and 6 steel cogs, this one has 10 ti cogs. Retail price was $450
- Campagnolo Nucleon wheelset: Features lube ports on the hub, so you can "rebuild" your hubs without even taking the wheels off the bike! Freehub body is titanium. MSRP $800
Condition:
I'll reiterate: BETTER THAN MINT! Less than 500 miles! There is very little that distinguishes this bike from a brand new bike on the showroom floor. The paint on the chainring teeth has very minor chain wear, the wheel's brake tracks have very light brake marks, and the rear brake has a light scratch on the face. Otherwise, all components are nearly perfect. Not a single blemish on the frame, even on the bottom of the bb shell and downtube! Drivetrain and brakes are perfectly in tune. Original tires have 90% life left. Chain, pads, bar tape, saddle are good as new. * Note: Because of the strict tolerances built into race bikes such as this, the chain will rub the inside edge of the large chainring while in the small chainring and smallest 2 cogs. Using these gears is technically cross-chaining and should not be used. *
