Product Description
This is a first generation Record hubset! It was made from 1960 to 1963, and is just like the later and more common NR hubs, but lacks the word "RECORD" under the Campy "World" logo. These are quite rare, and a must if you have an Italian road bike from that era.
High flange NR/SR hubs are the gold standard for classic road bicycle restorations from the 1960's to late 1980's. They are drop dead gorgeous, last forever, spin like butter, and add another level of prestige to your bike! The Record level hubs have replaceable cups and nicer axles/cones than the similar but inferior Gran Sport and Tipo hub.
Condition
Great to near mint used condition. Bearings are buttery smooth and well adjusted, with fresh grease. Skewers are near mint with barely a mark. The front is nicer than the rear, and really only has marks around the spoke holes. The rear has very light marks on the center shell, as well as heavier marks near the spoke holes. Oil port clips look excellent. Both have a lovely polish. Overall they look nicer than they appear in the photos!
