Product Description
This show or race worthy ARC from 1992 (frame number A346) is a nearly catalog-correct replica of the Team ARC with the exception of the and White Industry Hubs (both period-correct). It's got all the correct Ringle, XTR, and proprietary Yeti Parts like grips and A-Tac stem. All of this is original to this particular bike except headset top nut, hub skewers, crank/bb, and saddle. The original Manitou One suspension fork has a fresh rebuild and rides like a dream. Early A.R.C.'s don't pop up for sale very often, and the only time you see them this clean and original is on a cafe wall or the Pro's Closet museum. This bike will make all your buddies jealous at the retro mtb rides, or be a great conversation piece on your wall. In my opinion it's original paint is too clean for a complete restoration, but if you so desire Spectrum does a great job of repainting these.
The A.R.C. (Aluminum Racing Composite) was a revolutionary no frills racing machine from the minds of John Parker and Frank Wadelton (Frank The Welder) in Durango Colorado. It was groundbreaking in that they now had the technology to create Yeti's trademark loop stays out of aluminum, coming straight from the F.R.O. frames. The tubing is Easton Varilite 7005 alloy, and the resulting frame weighs under 4 pounds in a large. The complete build weighs just over 25 pounds. It was made famous on the mountain bike scene under the powers of Juli Furtado, Missy Giovi, and John Tomac.
Size
This is a large, and will fit riders roughly 5ft 9 to 6ft 2.
- Top Tube: 23"
- Seat tube: 19.5" (c-t), 18" (c-c)
- Frame number (inner non drive chainstay): A346, 346th ARC ever built
Condition
Excellent lightly used and well preserved condition! Paint and decals are 100% original. Absolutely NO cracks, dents, or other structural damage. Overall the paint looks amazing with minimal marks in most areas. The chainstays do have some paint damage, the bottom of the downtube has a bunch of tiny little marks from spray, and there's a spot of paint wear from cable rub along with a few chips along the side/bottom of the downtube. Paint is not faded and is nice and glossy. Fork is mint.
The vast majority of the components are mint or near mint with low miles. Fork, crank, front derailleur, bottle cage, shifters, headset, brakes/yokes, BB, and seatpost binder are mint with no wear worth noting. Tires are not dry/cracking and have 90% or more life left. Stem and bars have light decal wear, and the stem has a few light scratches. Seatpost has a small area of wear on the back just under the Easton logo. Rear derailleur has a very light scrape on the lower left knuckle but is near mint otherwise. Saddle has light wear to the edges, but no cuts/tears/scuffs. Wheels spin buttery smooth and are near perfectly true, just some very minor cosmetic wear on the rims. Minimal brake track wear. Hub QR's have some wear, mostly around the pivots. Onza pedals are worn, and not original to bike.
