Product Description
This frame does not appear in any Pinarello catalog, and is likely a prototype, one-off, or show bike. What we can tell about this is it's certainly a mid to late 1980's edition, and rather high end. It features Columbus Air tubing throughout, which is ovalized at the center of the tubes and round where they enter the lugs. This was a It has an internally routed rear brake cable in the same style as the top-of-the-line Montello model. It does have a chainstay bridge, which the Montello did not.
The paint is most likely custom. It looks like a Landshark paint job, but I don't believe John Slawta ever did repaints. It's a gorgeous theme that's rather unique. It's built with period-correct top of the line parts. The build is primarily Dura Ace 7400 with a Campagnolo Record crank (can swap for DA if desired), Roval racing wheels finish it off with a flair.
FRAME SIZE:
This large 57cm frame will fit someone roughly 5ft 10 to 6ft 2. It's a traditional racing geometry bike, with top tube and seattube the same length.

The Columbus Air tubing gives this bike a look of it's own. All of the tubes (including fork) except for the headtube are shaped. The seat tube and downtube are tear drop shaped (round on one side, ovalized on the other half). The top tube, stays, and for are ovalized. All tubes are round at the lugs (presumably to allow the use of Pinarello's classic lugs). The lugs are the same Pinarello forged lugs found on the Montello and Treviso. Dropouts are Campagnolo. Pinarello pantographs on the fork crown and seat cluster. The serial number on the BB shell has been covered by the custom paint and is unreadable.
CONDITION:
Great used shape. The paint is glossy and looks great overall, but does have some small chips. The frame is straight, and has no dents/bends/cracks/rust. It's been professionally tuned up, and is ready to ride. NOS Continental Ultra tires and Bike Ribbon faux-leather bar tape were just installed. Chain, freewheel/chainrings, and cables have plenty of life left. Components are in excellent shape cosmetically and mechanically.
