1979 Mongoose Motomag BMX Survivor: 100% Original! Unrestored Show Bike - Winner's Circle - Quilted Saddle (EXC)
*Sale fell through, it's available again!* This unrestored and original Motomag is 100% stock to catalog spec! It has all four of its original reflectors in excellent condition, and even the chainguard! Paint and decals are original, backed up by the Westside Schwinn Cyclery decal. It has blue Winner's Circle grips, quilted Mongoose metal framed seat on BMX Products stamped seatpost, 79' stamped ACS front hub & Bendix coaster rear matched to Femco rims (these were the "heavy wire wheels" shown in catalog as alternative to Motomag II's), original rat trap pedals, etc. It even has the original headset & top nut! It's rare to find 1970's BMX bike in original condition this clean!
Condition
This gem is part of a collection I acquired from someone who's father died recently. All of the bikes from the collection were clearly loved and well cared for. It is quite clean throughout. The frame is free of dents, and the only rust is a tiny spot on the rear dropout. Paint is a 7 or 8 out of 10, decals are 6 out of 10 aside from downtube decal that's actually pretty nice. Most of the components are in amazing shape. No holes/tears in saddle. Tires have cracked sidewalls but show minimal actual use. Chain is rusty. Crank and hubs spin nicely. Wheels are pretty true, and the rims are shiny with only a few tiny spots of corrosion. A few spokes have a bit of rust. Pedals are near mint.
