This glorious beast of a single speed was made special by Specialized for West End Bicycles in Portland to commemorate their opening. It hung on their wall its whole life until I acquired it when they closed for good. It is based on the 2011 Roll SE 2 with HEAVY customizations and a color scheme based on the shop logo. Most obvious is that beautiful custom porteur basket rack. The stock fork design was given mid fork and lower braze ons to support it. It was given internal brake routing.....AND internal routing for an electric rear derailleur! That's right, this thing has a derailleur hanger attached to its track dropout (I had to remove the prototype 1st gen Di2 system since they lost the unique charger for it). Its weight as photographed is 22 pounds with that huge steel and wood rack! Without the rack it'll be sub 20 pounds, maybe even sub 19. Max tire clearance 28mm. This will be a wonderful commuter bike with the ability to carry a ton of stuff in that basket, a proper messenger bike, or just a pretty Sunday rider to grab coffee and donuts.
As for the build, not a single component is stock. High end throughout. The star of the show is the rare Dura Ace 7710 track crank & Chris King 2Nut. Other bits from Nitto, Paul, Nokon housing, H+Son TB14 polished rims, etc.
Condition
Near mint with low miles! I was told it only went out for occasional rides and it shows (original tires show almost no miles). Frame is straight, zero dents/dings/rust. Overall it looks wonderful! There is a bit of shop wear, most notably top tube paint chips from the handlebars on both sides, and a couple on the stripes. Theres also a few chips on the non driveside chainstay from leaning against things. Components are largely near mint to mint. No real wear to mention. Its been given a professional tuneup and is ready to ride.
