Product Description
Specialties TA Pro 5 Vis Cyclotouriste Crankset: 160mm - English - Closed Pedal Holes (EXC+)
This is a bit of a rarity of a Cyclotouriste. It's a 160mm length which is seldom seen, and features the closed pedal holes, with the little "cap" with a hole in it over the back sides. It's a half step & bailout type triple, featuring a 47/42/27t spread. The "W" on the back of the arms indicates English pedal threads.
The T.A. Pro 5 Vis (commonly called the Cyclotourist or Cyclotouriste) crank is considered by many touring and randonnee cyclists to be the finest crank ever produced (including Jan Heine and Velo Orange). It can be set up as a double or triple, and has a nearly infinite selection of chainring sizes. It's also lightweight, strong, and attractive. It's Q-factor is very low, possibly the lowest of any crank.
Condition
Excellent or better lightly used shape. This came off our Bruce Gordon, which was immaculately cared. This one shows quite few miles, and just a bit of cosmetic wear. It is extremely clean! Chainrings show minimal wear and have most of their life left. Chainring bolts, decals, and dust caps are very close to perfect. The main spot of cosmetic wear is on both arms between the pedal holes and end of the decals. I thought about polishing it out, but I'll leave that up to you. Remedy that, and these are quite show worthy.
