Product Description
Before Tullio Campagnolo invented quick releases in 1927, the best method of wheel attachment was the axle wing nut. They provide a tool-free installation and removal, vs traditional axle nuts which require a wrench. Today, they are loved by fixie riders and for vintage bicycles for a touch of class or originality.
These French made Huret Luxe wing nuts are quite popular for vintage French bicycles. They were also used on some 1970's Schwinn bikes.
*Wingnuts are inherently more dangerous to operate than axle nuts or quick releases. They are only as tight as you can make them with your hands. They must be checked on a regular basis. Not recommended for those without mechanical know-how.
Condition
New old stock, pristine. These came to me in an oem bag with the label pictured (label does not come with these nuts unless you buy them all).
