Product Description
Extremely RARE original Charlie Cunningham / Wilderness Trail Bikes Rollercam brake from the late 1980's! This is is the WTB-branded one, Charlie's original self-branded one was very much the same but had lightening holes along the arm fronts. The cam itself is also much thinned down from the more rounded original version. Chances are if you've owned a roller cam brake it was a Suntour, which uses the same rough design as this original WTB/Cunningham. There was also a version called the WTB Toggle Cam which used (you guessed it) a unique rocker toggle design instead of the rollers.
If you were building/buying a top level early mountain bike from the mid 1980's to early 1990's, these were THE brakes to have. These came "stock" with many Cunningham Indian / Racer frames, Steve Potts Signature model, the WTB Phoenix, the prototype WTB Wildcat, etc. They were desired top level components for others such as the Ritchey Annapurna, Mountain Goat Deluxe, Mantis XCR/Valkyrie...
Condition
New old stock! When's the last time you saw a NOS WTB Roller-anything? This is very close to pristine, with only the slightest hints of shop wear.
