Product Description
This is a rare high end brakeset Zeus put out in the early to mid 1970's. The half hood brake levers are faithful clones of the Mafac half hood levers (with the addition of a prominent and pretty hash texture on the blades). Presumably the hoods would fit on Mafacs (not confirmed/tested). The brakes are clones of the Universal 61 centerpulls. They add an "S" curve to the top brake arm with the logo. These are mid reach at 44-56mm (via Sutherlands). Zeus also made the long reach Super Alfa which was a clone of the Mafac Racer, and even had DURAL-FORGE engraved. Included is a full cable/housing set (cream white ribbed housing), straddle cable carriers (with the same gorgeous blue decorative ring as on the pivot bolts!), front and rear cable stops. This really is a lovely, well made brakeset.
Condition
New old stock in retail box. Parts are in factory sealed inner plastic bags, and presumed perfect. Hoods seem to be in wonderful shape. Box is in rough shape.
