Product Description
Beyond rare set of clean Mafac Tigers! The Tiger model was introduced in the very late 1950's as an upgrade to the Racer. It's arms were spaced further apart for more leverage (and greater tire clearance?). The radical brake pad attachment system aided pad stability and increased stiffness. This brake was the basis for the 1963 Mafac Top 63 which added adjustable stirrups to compensate for the pads not adjusting up and down. These are a top choice for high end French randonneur bikes!
Condition
Near mint or better with low miles, original finish. Arms and hardware are very close to mint. Just the slightest bits of aging visible to the arms, and a dusting of finish wear on the hardware (primarily the brake pad nuts). Three of the pads appear close to unused, and the fourth oddly two of the dots are worn (filed?) at an angle. Includes one correct length straddle cable (though it's not the correct one, which has a quick release tab on one end). These are absolutely show worthy for any bike! Or give them a quick polish if you're doing a NOS build and trying to restore it to what it looked like when brand new.
