Product Description
This is the seat clamp you need for your Ideale alloy-railed saddle. The clamp was released in the 1950's and ran all the way through the 1980's somewhere, unchanged to my eye. That means this is essentially period correct for all Duraluminum flat rail saddles, including No. 48, 57 Record/Professional, 58, 59, 65, 90 CR/IR, etc.
The #4 clamp rides atop a Japanese alloy seatpost pillar, in 26.2mm. The very top of the post is capped with a slight dome and a dimple at the top, and combined with the machining marks on the shaft make for a pretty cool looking post that wouldn't be aesthetically out of place on a classic randonneur bike.
Condition
Excellent to near mint, show bike worthy as long as you only have the top 110mm of the post (from the rails) showing. The saddle clip is exceptionally clean, the only more significant imperfections to note are a bit of corrosion on the lower adjusting hardware.
