Campagnolo Gran Sport 1005/2 Front Derailleur: Matchbox Push Rod - 1950's 1960's (NEAR MINT+ Show Worthy)
Exceptionally clean example of Campagnolo's top level front mech from 1954 (the first year the world logo appeared on this derailleur) to 1957 when the Record model was released. The first gen was from 1951 to 1953, with the winged wheel logo. The Gran Sport FD was continued into the mid 1960's, and was removed somewhere before the #15 catalog in 1967. This Gran Sport was chrome plated and had nicer castings and details compared to the similar but dull grey coated Valentine model. Often called the matchbox or pushrod derailleur.
Very close to mint, very lightly used condition! Perfect for your 1950's or 60's Campy L'Eroica restoration. Outer cage plate, shift arm, matchbox body and clamp piece are just about pristine. Hardware looks as clean as NOS bolts would! Inner cage plate shows a touch of chain rub.
