Product Description
Bottecchia Brass Head Badge: 1940's to 1950's - Eagle - Raised Features (Near Mint)
This unique antique head badge is a piece of early Bottecchia bicycle history. It is the storied company's most intricate headtube badge as well. It is of brass construction, with raised lettering and detailed/raised eagle features. Most of the pre-war bikes I've seen had painted headtube logos. By the 1960's, this badge was still brass, but flat with painted on details. This is beautiful enough to be the centerpiece of a piece of artwork! If you're restoring a classic Bottecchia from the 40's and 50's, you probably need this badge. If you have a later Bottecchia frame, you may like this as a little "upgrade" if period correctness isn't as important as cool factor.
Condition
Near mint with a lovely light patina. No damage or real corrosion. The sides around the rivet holes are bent in to fit the rivets to the frame.
