Product Description
These gorgeous panniers came from a collector who specialized in French and English classic road bikes and randonneuse bikes circa 1930's, 1940's, 1950's, and 1960's. His best guess was these are French, post war sometime. They are made of high quality leather with excellent stitching. They have a good amount of patina though they're fully functional with the exception of one closure buckle issue. They're a great fit for "as found" unrestored vintage bikes. They would be equally great in a vintage bike museum or display case. I have not been able to ID the maker, please let me know if you recognize these!
Condition
The main leather panels are fairly supple with a lovely naturally aged patina. There's some cracking in the leather in spots, and wear in others. Front closure straps are original, though one buckle's leather that holds it on is torn (in pics). The front straps themselves are intact but worn. Rear straps have been replaced and are in amazing shape. One has a patch on the backside. The photos show the condition accurately, study them carefully as I am not going to detail every blemish. The patina is part of their charm.
