Product Description
Rare first year 1988 / 1989 flagship MTB race frame from Kona! This came with the legendary Project 2 fork, and is painted in "pistachio green", and is built from ultralight Tange Prestige steel tubing. This often came with splatter paint overlay, but this one is unsplattered. The rear brake is for a U-brake, front cantilever. Both the rear U-brake and the rear-facing seatpost binder bolt with integrated noodle cable guide identify it as pre-1990.
Condition
Original unrestored condition. No dents, bends, cracks, rust. Paint is in average shape with cosmetic wear throughout. Decals are in pretty great shape with just a bit of wear. The only spot of major wear to note is the driveside chainstay has heavy paint damage from chain suck.
